Vienna trip part 2

Today marks the second day of my trip in Vienna. After all the fluff about how nice Vienna is I feel that it is important to continue emphasising on how nice Vienna is.
Well after yesterday I sort of learnt that Vienna is a bit too dry for me (especially my lips). The weather mainly consists of two types: blue sky with hot sun or completely random shower (sometimes with hot sun). If you see clouds it usually means it's going to rain. Seriously, the sky is just plain blue sky plus a sun, there's almost no clouds anywhere. So despite the fact that the weather is cool and dry, the sun made it glaring. Imagine going to the Arctics but with sunlight coming in from that still-degrading ozone layer would be a good analogy.

Oh right there's this 'floating plant fluff' that adds to the weather effect, some plants that continuously release its fluffy fruits into the air (like 蒲公英) so you see nice white stuff floating around, bad for nose though. If you look closely there are white stuff in the photo. Those are the fruit/seeds of the trees there. It's more obvious when you look at it in real life as compared to photos. Add a sort of niceness to the surrounding, gives a bit of the feel of a flurry of snow.

Went to (forgot what it is called palace), basically the royal palace in Vienna. Sadly they don't allow phototaking so the insides of the palace can't really be shown. Only have to say that the palace rooms are very 'palaceish'. The maze inside was boring though.

Oh right and lots of ducks. Ducks.

Along the road of that palace there are some street performers (I have to call them street performers because there's no other word that fits) whose classic way of earning money was to stone there a pretend to be a statue. When you put money into the container before them they would start to move and perform things, I assume depending on how much you paid them they would perform longer/better.

Lunch is buffet (6.90 euro muahahahaha) outside a station near to their carnival place. We met our first problem in Vienna, in the sense that we can't communicate with the locals there because they mostly speak German. The people working at tourism spots can speak English, but those from local stores can't, so we had problem at the restaurant asking about whether we pay before or after we eat, although it was resolved in the end by us just sitting down and eat (everyone is dying).

I think I have a liking for birds now so here is a crow.

Went to Vienna's carnival district I would say, the entire place is just full of different rides and places to play in, with typical carnival stuff like haunted rides, roller coaster, merry-go-round and all those.

After that we went to a river (forgot the name also, ok shall update later) because it was apparently very famous (at least from how my dad responded to it). And here we rented a boat and floated across the river :) The scenery is very nice. Except it suddenly start to rain while we were on the boat and we have to scramble for our umbrellas. Then the rain is the super random kind, it would get light then heavy again, I'm quite sure I saw some part further away from us getting particularly screwed by the rain.

Lastly we went to a bar. Oh have to give a bit of river here. The river has supposedly an 'old' section and 'new' section. So our boating trip was at the old river, and then we took one stop to the new river, and that river is filled with bars, a bit like the clarke quay area in Singapore. Although once again drinks are cheap, especially the beer. My dad was literally fanboying over the beer there, like how it tastes much better than Singapore beer and how cheap it is.
Here's a photo of the menu. Had wanted to try a certain drink inside there but it was really inappropriate :P We all skipped dinner due to laziness and tiredness and a very late lunch at 4 pm. Ok gotta sleep le nites~
