once again the experiment screwed

today did projects day experiment to see whether we would succeed. althought success percentage less than 1%. anyways, did spectro and titration of the dried fruit samples, failed again. the titration is very stable, but the spectro, as usual cuz the samples have colour, failed. partly cuz theres the suspected reason that one of the sample prepared is actually apricot instead of mango, cuz when both of them are soaked in water they look absolutely alike. sigh need to redo next week, sianz.
managed to agree with mrs tay upon changing the crystal i gave her, from copper(II) chloride to sodium chloride, cuz the copper(II) chloride simply refuse to crystallise from its green solution (feel like saying bloody but its misleading. copper(II) chloride solution is NOT red)
was crystallising 3 samples at one time: iron (III) chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate and sodium chloride. u may find that i seem to be only crystallising chloride salts, cuz i only have hydrochloric acid at home....not my fault.
thought of a short story to write. will post tmr. its about how a demon got scammed by 4 ppl in a period of 5000 years...lol

nothing to post today

very normal school day, the abnormal part is im having a runny nose for no reason, no fever, no sore throat. just a runny nose..
had english speech test, the question is quite easy, basically is about writing a propaganda speech about why u want to attack a police post and bomb ppl.
now had a bleeding nose instead of a runny nose...omg.
completely dumped the copper(II) chloride in water now realising its "true" hygroscopic identity. must find some excuse for not giving the "crystals", which is actually solution, to mrs tay. nvm she not here anyways wait first lo. if not good all in all just give her my previous successes.

so sleepy

today had swimming test, broke all my record and swam 100m in an astonishing 2min 8s. wow thats the fastest record i ever have lah swimming ftw. anyways, all good results will have a bad side-effect. the first thing is that i find myself unable to get out of the water....have to push myself from the back. then found my legs DAM sore, its as though all the lactic acid i have in my body all went to the legs, so sore that cant even move my legs. and then the worst of it is when i felt dam nauseous. horrible feeling, as though im going to vomit straight away, the second time i ever had this kind of feeling after swimming, first time is when i also overswam and got dizzy, but at least its only dizzy not nauseous. immediately after swimming lesson i chiong to the toilet, locked myself in, and started vomitting my stomach out. horrible. so thats wat hydrochloric acid tastes like. lol nvr tell mom otherwise she would kill me for swimming so fast...
then after swimming lesson is recess. so dam tired after the swimming (felt better after vomitting but still feel not so well...) that i just bought a coconut juice then went back classroom and literally slept on the floor, as thamsy for more info...didn even realise chinese teacher already came to class till thamsy sort of kick me awake. sianz didn even have my meal for recess, and still had to secretly take a sip from my coconut juice can everytime chinese teacher turned her back at me. dam scary ok. at least finished my whole box of cookies during maths lesson at around 2pm (lol cookies easier to eat secretly than can drinks, cuz can hide under the table and snap off a bit by a bit :P)
tmr got english test oh nozes need to study for the format for the speech..
btw changed my swimming trunks (or as some ppl say when they refer to triangular ones as "swimwear"). yay love the colour.

once again i realised im screwed. cuz today reached home then amy msged me that the log book is supposed to be due last week while the stupid smtp report is due today. omfg nearly vomited blood. lol just kdding, but wtf now then realise, HOW CHIONG IN ONE DAY!? luckily amy decided to extend deadline cuz she feel that must at least have a few rounds of draft before handing in, so today can slack for a day. trm need to meet her to see sample report then do. mayb by the end of this week would hand in to her. also tmr handing in logbook to her, although its beyond deadline but she still accepts it, yay.
do homework. chiong bio during class, ihe after school. managed to finish 2 homework within that 1 hour.

post for today (not really)

due to the fact that i posted at such late point of time, i dun really call it "today". well nvm.
today, as a normal saturday would be like, i did homework. still have english speech and chinese compo to do..sigh all the paperwork to be completed.
then halfway through my chinese newspaper thing earlier at 5.30, went swimming pool for swimming with hs. throughout the 2 hours of swimming hs was talking about learning freestyle and i was talking about how i forgot freestyle ever since last year, wow. then theres the to and fro to and fro swimming with breaststroke, backstroke and sometimes my random swimming method of not using my arms at all. then showed off by diving underwater, and then had my face splashed with water from hs' water gank.
and then mom bought a new pair of trunks for me....said the one i was currently wearing for swimming was too lose, so decided to buy a new one. i liked the black colour, but its not....trunks enough. as in its more of swimshorts than swimming trunks. well well who cares. at least it helps for my schools swimming test next tuesday.
yawn...still writing the speech...so hungry. later cook instant noodles for myself. lol and dad is still tanking with me, trying to outlast each other. sooner or later i would just give in, dads too pro cuz he sleep dam late every night...doing his thesis.

chem spa practise

today had chem spa practise at chem lab. were tested on some substances including aqueous ammonia, copper (II) sulfate, an acid, a carbonate/bicarbonate and phenophthalein. the spa test quite simple, since whole class finished it before the double-period ended. my observation as quoted from amy, was "quite enough", but then think my deduction got abit of problem, cuz i wrote only carbonate can react with acid to give CO2, when bicarbonate also can....
nvm at least should get an A for the practise.

tanking. once again

ok today did projects day reflection. looked at keith and daniel's reflection and (quoted from amy) i want to vomit blood already. in the end was heavily editing their reflections. so much for "self-reflections". self some more.
btw went home and realised to my horror that all the crystals yesterday dissolved again. most likely cuz this morning was raing so the air very humid. DAM IT. vomit blood again.

the topic for today is sleep. intro to the two photos are the background info. it is known that my class 3S1 at SC1 is a very sleepy and dreamy class. everyday when I enter the classroom i can see some ppl quietly mugging or doing homework at some corners, some ppl sleeping, some ppl playing the com and/or other playthings including gameboy ds. and due to the fact that only the front light of the classroom is on (supposedly to save electricity and to let those sleepy ppl sleep in peace), thus giving the classroom that extra sleepy and dreamy touch to the class. today featuring two ppl whom i "caught" sleeping, but actually theres supposed to be 4....including dom and zhong hui, but dom was kept awake by thamsy and ray yans heated debate about "HCI should delay the school hour to 8am to 3pm", which was mainly (and ironically related to my topic) about not having enough sleep, while zhong hui woke up before i could take that memorable photo. ok enough crapping heres the main dishes.

first up is chan wei, dozing off on the table, although i dun really like sleeping on the table cuz its too hard and uncomfortable.and then its caleb who was smart (like me if i wanted to) to sleep on the floor instead of on the tables. the good thing, your body can be kept straight, AND your bag can always be your pillow. the bad thing, ppl might step on you, ouch.

finally theres some crystals coming out

after what seems to be one and a half week, finally the copper(II) chloride solution decides to have some change in its form. today when home and happily realise it has started crystallising!! the green crystals are at the side of the cup, but still got some solution still inside, so must wait abit more, so should be finished by the end of this week, quite confident this time.

so tired..

ya today got chased and ganked by thamsy and bryan nearly throughout the recess period. For wat? all for a few pieces of stupid biscuit which thamsy was dying to eat. lol gave one to weibo IN HIS FACE, resulting me getting chased again..i call that grand chase. sigh coming in and out of classroom doors, locking thamsy outside, getting locked outside, go in from back door, got backstabbed by thamsy who also followed in thru the backdoor. Run downstairs, run upstairs, pretend to be eating my biscuits when i saw a teacher coming along.
maths test is screwed up. but surprisingly my score is higher than the average score in the class. is it like...the first time ever..?

tired

spent the morning watching harry potter and the half-blood prince. the movie still quite nice, although hoping to see more action.
then spent the rest of the day doing my chinese compo for a competition. only managed to finish now, cuz at first typed it on my com then have to hand copy the final version on paper. so horrible, the copying part. my hand is so dam sore by the end of the copying, so are my shoulders.
next week must finish projects day reflection and hand to amy, then mayb if early she would let us correct some of our mistakes...if any.
arrh now dam tired wan sleep...dunno how some ppl managed to stay awake for the next day when they sleep so late...thamsy.

p.s. the flame is not completely one-coloured because before this flame test i used calcium carbonate to test for calcium, so there r chunks left on the wire.....so theres this brick-red flame as well.

projects day semi-finals

yes today had the semis. i think my team still manages well, only during q & a i sort of gave the indirect answer, but the judge didn seem to realise, so never mind. For the ppt presentation we were comepletely brisking through, and surprisingly finished the whole thing early, dunno its because we are too nervous and crapped too fast or because they time wrongly, zz cuz yesterday when we were practising with "amy" we were actually a bit behind the cut-off point.
anyway after our presentation we sort of sneaked out of the SRC and went for recess. then after that went to holding room where theres mass laptop gaming ocurring at 2 different holding rooms. while i was blasting music on the phone, wow for the first time in this whole year i felt so wild, its like right after the EOY where everyone was celebrating. the mood was exciting.
p.s. it is known from the sec4 senior that amy had a new nickname AKA jing jing

suddenly projects day arrived before i could realise anything. at least finished everything for the project till now. today also went for final rehearsal, feel as though theres no problem but the point is so many ppl under the same mentor, dont feel that secure of passing. only hoping i can pass...
supposedly i need to finish a piece of english letter today, but oh well. let it pass for a day.
p.s. i broke a wine glass just now, dam it does it mean im not gonna pass semi-finals?? NOOO...
Question: How should you phrase "I broke a wine glass on the floor and the pieces were scattered everywhere." so that your mom would be happy instead of screaming?

maths test is hard...

at first we had swimming, which took out nearly all my energy for the next few periods, which are double chinese and double physics. the swimming lesson left me dam tired and my arms were dam sore...felt like sleeping during chinese but still got something like a semi-chinese compo that i need to write.
the good thing about physics is that since my physics teacher is on LOA, thus theres much less to do actually...although i doesn mean got time to mug maths, but feel better...
and then the horror came after the break. maths was a complete killer. although maths teacher say ONLY got one question on 3D trigo, but it came out that that one question has so many sub-questions it might as well take up at least a quarter of the marks for the test..
horrible horrible. then still went com lab to upload projects day stuff online. lol complete at 4.30pm 30minutes before dead line. saw so many ppl there chionging last minute work, lolz.
tmr meeting "amy" for projects day again, hope keith does his slide designing.

english teacher LOA, csc teacher LOA, physics teacher LOA...

and thus 3 of my teachers were on LOA cuz they came into contact with that magnificent HP class which had that case of H1N1. then today just realised that all the HP classes were sort of went home early, zhen wei was like dam happy msg me some more. but as quoted from keith, "the HP ppl have test the moment they came back from school" sigh tough luck for them.
today had projects day presentation with "amy", and then somewat was not very smooth with my slides, but at least most of the questions she asked i can understand and noe how to answer.
then theres major need of change in the slide design, shall abuse my autocratic power and make keith the graphic designer do his job. oops.. while daniel is "happily" tanking the results section for me, partly cuz the figures repel me.
tmr having swimming lessons. today heard massive poning from swimming lesson going to be carried out, dunno whether its true anot but im going anyways, better than staying back in the afternoon and swim.
tmr maths test, so sianz. finished mugging yay at least wont die so much...
and then we r going to present again on wednesday, so as to ensure that we have achieved "perfection", at least for presenting. thats until the maths test duh.
p.s. bought one whole bottle of sodium bicarbonate for $0.90 at a shop, cuz its baking soda, but the ingredient is sodium bicarbonate wat...now can do more experiments than ever, such as making a lot of foam by adding even vinegar to that whole bottle. ok im not THAT stupid as to waster so much...

dengue, bird flu, H1N1, haze, now what?

The title of my post is clear enough to at least hint what I am about to write. Yes, a few months ago we have this major problem of dengue fever all over Singapore, spread by the damned mosquitoes. Deaths in the city.
And then a few months later bird flu came out, which shows us how angry the chickens were. More deaths in the city.
And then came this H1N1, there is no problem in Singapore...yet. Thus no death in the city, but seeing the rest of the world...tough luck.
A few days ago came the haze from Indonesia. Although the health level is not low yet, but seeing all these threats floating around in the air, I don't suppose there will be MANY people who will actually risk their lives.
The moral of the story? I hate life AKA I'm completely crapping.

my nose

today did crystals at home for mrs tay. at first heated in the afternoon, but somehow i left it in the toilet and i suppose that the toilet is too humid, so all the water condense and drip into my cup. anyways, at first can see the crystals coming out, but after that the whole thing is just a solution. got pissed and heated the solution again. this time only see the colour of the solution changed a little then stopped heating - stupid mistake i made.
dunno why but somehow theres this stupid smell coming out from the solution. dam stinging to the nose. was suspecting something like sulfur dioxide or ammonia. dunno wat other common gas got smell. cannot be chlorine cuz the smell is not the "swimming pool" smell, its the sting ur nose type of smell. then in the end
but now the solution starting to crystallise again, but hope the solution is not deliquescent (darn keep spelling it wrong) or something and start absorbing water again...
hope can finish crystallising by monday so can give to mrs tay early, im NOT going to wait stupidly for 3 months for the solution to crystallise, like wat i did with my sodium chloride solution.

then talked to mrs tay on msn about some lame stuff for a dam short time before she became to busy to talk anymore.
was prepared to do the heating today, but then now must sleep....to charge up battery for yesterday.
so heating has to wait till tmr...
and theres ihc tmr....
hope mrs tay dun demand for it lol.

losing my science file for 2 hs

today is one of the slackest day i ever had in hci (apart from those days after the EOY tests). partly due to the fact that the double-period assembly is being replaced by slack in class session, then theres still one recess before that. more like triple recess lo. too bad never sneak down to buy food during the slack in class (the sessions were originally intended, as quoted from galvin sng "to prepare for your EOY examinations", but somehow everyone just daoed)
after english lesson i chiong straight to ihc. then after ihc need to run all the way back for chem. then realised to my horror that my science file is missing, the crumbled and old file where i put all my bio, physics and chem stuff. completely lost my head and could not concentrate during chem lessons. OMFG ITS MY FILE GODDAM IT.
after chem immediately chiong to the place where i had english, found nothing. then chiong to place where i had ihc. found nothing. chiong back to my classroom, found nothing. chiong to place where i had chem, found nothing. scream in agoy (spelling mistake intended) for some time. then when i was about to give up and find my mentor to discuss about projects day when zhen wei magically assembled himself outside my classroom. then he began with "i found ur chem file" WTF? then he proceeded to take out my beauty science file out of his bag. was so dam happy, hugged him for 10 seconds straight.
turned out that he had maths lesson in the classroom where i had english. then he was coincidentally sitting at where i was sitting. then he saw that familiar orange-yellow and half torn file and realised its mine, so he took it. no wonder never find it in my classroom.
btw went home and found out the test-tube with copper wire and HCl inside has turned green. but then the one with iron inside is acting strangely, yesterday it was green but today it suddenly became colourless, and its still reacting. i thought should have like stopped by now, so strange. later at night go see again, if still reacting then tmr after school i see again lo. but quite sure can get copper(II)chloride liao.
p.s. dam i forgot to buy test-tubes again. wrote it in my notebook in case i forgot again.

first day of term 3

the first thing that ever happened was i found myself being chased by kerry and thamsy managed to seduce him with a gameboy colour. then theres this indoor flagraising due to H1N1, where they might as well blast the national anthem at us. after that temperature taking. after this is CSC, enjoyed some time staring at the wall, very nice first day it seems....
until we went for ihc lesson. massive uproar about undone homework (im one of the culprit) and undone pbl. noe its not mrs tays fault to be scolding us, but no one except a masochist feels shuang after getting scolded. thus decided to chiong finish ihc pbl by today. and i was successful in that. yay. now spamming thru my ihc homelearning work which was due long time ago. sigh i was too cropped up to do the works, but now chionging so hope can mend my mistake.
mr yap surprised us with a first-day practise test. and it was about drawing basic graphs of time velocity, distance and acceleration. managed to get a 13 out of 18, at least an A2.
maths lesson (even though i had my lunch) was dam hungry and managed to munch on some chocolate i brought.
went home nobody at home. very nice, went to do my crystallisation of copper(II)chloride. the solution is blue-green in colour. looks dam nice. but then due to some mistake i left it in the fire for too long until it chaoda. but then the moment i had some water to it it turned back to blue-green colour, mayb from anhydrous to hydrated. who noes. then found some rusty nails along my window, drop them in a test tube of hydrochloric acid. if im successful, i can make copper(II)chloride and iron(II)chloride by the end of this week.. how i noe its iron(II), cuz its green!
p.s. the copper(II)chloride may take some time because this stupid copper wire takes dam long to dissolve this time. dunno y. mayb cuz nvr use chlorine to oxidise or something.

horrible experience

just had the most horrible event i ever experienced in my life of chemistry till now, apart from one incident where i left silver nitrate solution (which just looks like water) on my fingers and the result is my finger turned black for one whole week. Just now in my own "lab" (actually is a the toilet in my room), i accidentally spilled some hydrochloric acid on my foot. how i noe its hydrochloric acid? cuz the toilet cleaning agent says at the ingredient section: contains hydrochloric acid. anyways, the result is that my foot suddenly became dam pain and i had to secretly skip to the other toilet (cuz my lab no washing place suitable to place my foot in) and spam soap and water. dam it la now still dam pain and part of my skin redden liao. haiz all in the name of chemistry. good news is: for those ppl who r interested (i hope there r, ppl dun seem to like wat i love..) i had successfully crystallised copper(II)sulfate. although not much but still some nice blue crystals. also the reason y i spilled HCl on my foot is cuz im trying to make copper(II)chloride. now the copper rod is already immersed in acid, although copper does not react directly with dilute acid, but the toilet cleaner got other ingredients that can oxidize the copper so that HCl can react. so around mayb 1 to 2 weeks later u all can see some nice blue-green crystals on my blog. yay.

100th post yay

Ok through some kind of enduring "hardwork" I managed to hit 100 posts on my blog. Although it is not a good achievement anyway but at least its a hundred posts. some are just random one-liners but at least there are some of them which are well at least considered at meaningful to certain ppl. Today epic sleeper and woke up at 4pm. haha scream at that cuz yesterday 3 am then sleep...so dam sleepy and sleep throughout. plus theres rain in the afternoon which was oh-so-nice, wan to sleep even more. so thats the result..
then took a "optical illusion quiz" and scored 80%. at least i never failed from my sabbaticals. then proceed to do more quizes haiz. i think the only reason i signed up for facebook is to do quizes and see other ppls photos.
zzz celebrate my 100th post by going to sleep. night~

these few days abit rush for me. summing up last minute homework, waiting for things to happen. hoping daniel would finally finish the proposal....nvm.

day 4 wow fast

today is the slackiest day i ever had for e-learning (and for ur info for the whole of the holidays actually). finished the work at like 10am and went back sleep. lolol. partly cuz maths no work except for a ppt at the end of the lessons, bio i chionged first. chinese finished long time ago. english daoing the blog. lol. anyways tmr last day of e-learning week, hope teachers dun give so much homework.
